I am bowled over. The variety of suggestions everyone made over the weekend floored me. Stunning. I love them all. There were so many good suggestions that it took me quite a while this morning to decide on one, but I finally managed.
The winner, Aquitania, was suggested by Karen. I’ll be putting the pattern in Karen’s Ravelry library after I release it.
In case you were wondering, because like me, and unlike Karen’s daughter, you are not an expert on Charlemagne, Aquitania was one of the regions under his rule. Charlemagne, who is also known as Charles the Great, was emperor in Europe later in his life, from the year 800 to the time he died in 814. Aquitania is currently known as Aquitaine, and is in southern France on the Bay of Biscay. Charlemagne was the first emperor in Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire, 300 years before.
Huge thank yous to everyone who participated!
