As a designer I play many games of yarn chicken. Often I play my games of yarn chicken by guess or by golly, but sometimes I want to be more certain of how far I might be able to get, or how many yards of yarn I'll have left at the end of a row or section. I do these calculations on paper all the time. I got the idea for sharing this yarn calculator from my friend, and fellow designer, Jill Wolcott
. Our approach is slightly different, but the results are the same.
