Algernon

  • There were a number of things that made me choose this particular yarn in this particular colorway that are go a long way to explaining things. First, the yarn I used is from Posh Yarn. Swoon. Their yarns are all so… posh. Next, Posh has a habit of giving their yarns women’s first names, and this lovely yarn is named Laura. How could I not get this yarn? Then, the colorway. The colorway is named Earnest. Earnest is one of the characters in my favorite Oscar Wilde play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Algernon is another character in the story. It all sort of worked. You know?

This sock sports a complex combination of cables. The front of it has a large cable motif. The sides and back of the sock are three repetitions of a much different, simpler motif.
